Shamanic Healing and Drum-Making

March 16, 17, 18, 2012

In Gearhart on the Oregon Coast

Shamanism – Many of us are rediscovering our openness to the possibilities of other realities. There is certainly immense variety inherent in the Universe.  We are beginning to gain an understanding that we are  are able to tune our vibration to the reality we intend or want to see.  This workshop opens up to a different reality.  Many aspects of shamanism were common for nearly all the aboriginal tribes of the earth not so long ago.  It is interesting to note that the tools and practice of shamanism is common the world over by members of very different cultures, tribes, cut off by oceans and seas.  During this weekend, we are offered a unique opportunity to step into another world, to experience energies not often experienced, as we learn about non-ordinary reality and the Shaman’s relationship to it.

The Drum is an essential instrument of the Shaman and has been used universally in shamanic cultures worldwide.  During the retreat we will experience drumming as never before.  It will be a unique experience as we use this ancient tool to access spiritual awareness and guidance.  We will also have an opportunity to make our own drum.  We will give birth to it, bond with it, and establish a unique, personal relationship with a sacred drum.  As we make these drums we will be learning the deeper understanding of the shaman’s relationship with the drum itself.  The cost of making a drum is $150.00 and is NOT included in the cost of the retreat.  Please let us know when you register if you would like to make a drum, and instructions for payment will be sent to you.  If you do not plan on making a drum, there will be many drums for you to use at the retreat for drumming circle.  Feel free to bring drums or rattles if you have them.

Food - Of course, we will have terrific food.  The meals will be thoughtfully and deliciously prepared, offering mostly vegetarian (some fish is served) cuisine.  We will offer dairy free and gluten-free alternatives for those with sensitivities.

Fun and Support - You will enjoy meeting new friends you and experience authentic intimacy and synergy that occurs when people who are serious about knowing themselves are together with purpose.

It’s your TURN!  You won’t want to miss this weekend of spiritual attunement and authenticity in fellowship with healers and nurturers.  This cooperative-retreat is designed for anyone who wants to explore the healing and power available in the shamanic path.  In addition, healers from various modalities will be on hand to share their gifts.  Participants will be enriched by others who have gifts to share, and all are welcome to share the wisdom and knowledge unique to them.  There will be plenty of time for sharing energy medicine in the healing circle.

As with all of the retreats, we will have fabulous food, prepared by Emily Rowan.

I hope you will join us as we prepare a reTREAT you will never forget.

The Cooperative Retreat

Welcome to the concept of the cooperative retreat.  This means that each person will bring a portion of food to contribute to the menu, and to help with kitchen duties and clean up. Of course, we will have terrific food.  The meals will be thoughtfully and deliciously prepared, offering mostly vegetarian cuisine.  We will offer dairy free and gluten-free alternatives for those with sensitivities.

Mind Body Spa

Builds community as it creates the space for folks to fully relax and experience authentic connection to self and others who wish to achieve mind/body/spirit balance.  Come share your unique self with others and be enriched by the deep healing you will find here.
